主动成长,拥抱美好未来。Embracing the bright future.

董子凡七年级下学期来到圣比斯学校,对新学校满怀期待。她觉得学校环境很好,饭菜也好吃。同学们都热情大方,带着她去餐厅、宿舍、体育馆等等,很快子凡就熟悉了校园和同学们。


Dong Zifan came to St Bees in the second semester of G7 and was full of expectations for her new school. She thought the school environment and food was good. The students were all warm and generous. They took her to restaurants, dormitories, gymnasiums. Soon Zifan got to know the campus and her classmates well.


子凡感慨:“以前在学校老师都不关注我,但是在这里老师会关注到我,帮我辅导,帮我分析和规划。”我问子凡:“你为什么选择圣比斯?”云朵同学抢着说:“因为在石家庄没有比圣比斯更好的学校了。”


 "In the past, teachers didn't pay attention to me at school, but here they pay attention to me and help me with coaching, analysis and planning." Zifan said. I asked her, “Why did you choose here?” "Because there is no better school in Shijiazhuang than St Bees." the classmate next to her said.

子凡的口语不错,敢于张口主动交流,是外教Ali的“小助教”,在课上会辅助同学和老师沟通。Ali说:“子凡最好的一点是敢于交流。”语言就要多说才能练好。有一次子凡参加国旗下的演讲,周五请Ali帮忙录读文稿,自己在周末一遍遍跟读一遍遍练习。在周一做国旗下演讲时,子凡便演讲得很流利。


She has great oral English and is confident to speak. She is the "little assistant" of the foreign teacher Ali and will assist students to communicate with Ali. Ali said, "The best thing about Zifan is that she dares to communicate." A language can only be practiced by speaking it. Once Zifan participated in a speech, she asked Ali to record it, and then practiced it over and over again on the weekend. During her speech under the national flag on Monday, Zi Fan spoke flawlessly.  


子凡有一定的绘画基础,比较喜欢画画。美术老师高老师说:“她画的时候比较能静下心,比如在画对称图案的时候,能够很认真的去找对称的规律,善于刻画物体的细节。”


She has an abundance of natural talent at painting. Ms. Gao, the art teacher, said, "When she is painting, she is able to step back and take it all in. For example, when she is painting symmetrical patterns, she is able to find the law of symmetry very carefully and is excellent at depicting the details of objects."

最值得一提的是她对数学从畏难到喜欢的转变。第一次上数学课,于老师提问,发现她有点怯生生的。课后于老师主动询问学生情况,学生说:“我数学不好,有点害怕回答问题。”老师说:“老师提问是想知道知识你吸收了没,以后我会在尊重你的意愿下提问你。”


Most notable of all was her transformation in maths class. The first time in maths class, the teacher found her a little timid. After class, the teacher asked her about it, the students said, "I am not good at maths and a little afraid to answer the questions. "The teacher said, "I ask questions to know whether you have absorbed the knowledge, and I will ask you questions in respect of your will."

圣比斯融合课堂

在老师的理解和鼓励下,子凡的畏难情绪逐渐消解,后来子凡主动上台答题,还会在老师讲解了解题方法后,提出新的解题方法。几个月后孩子对待数学的态度和成绩都有明显的变化。学生妈妈开心地向老师反馈:“孩子说自己不讨厌数学了,还主动说要补习薄弱的地方。老师特别好,孩子有很大进步。”


With the teacher's encouragement, her fears gradually subsided. Later, she took the initiative to answer the questions and she would put forward new methods to solve the problems. Her mother reported to the teacher happily: "The child said she doesn’t hate maths any more, but has also volunteered to learn the weak areas. You’re very good and the child is making great progress."
